I attended John F. Kennedy School of Psychology at National University receiving a degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Holistic Studies. I’ve worked mostly in Southern California where I had the opportunity to grow up.
I have experience providing individual mental health and crisis care to those in severe need, working with children, teens and families in difficult situations, assisting active duty military adults, and working with individuals, couples and groups within BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and various religious communities. I am trained in EMDR and have a background in Somatic and body-oriented practices. I practice Buddhism and have Shamanism training.
Lack of resources growing up in a multicultural household left me confused about emotions and how to be present. I was applauded for perfectionism and strived to be the best. Along my journey, I have struggled with obsessive behaviors and losing parts of myself.
In 2019, I finally began to make sustainable changes by rewiring my brain and made behavioral patterns to develop a deep sense of self. From there, I grew into my more spiritual and holistic self. I was motivated during the pandemic to choose healing and began to share it with others.
I take a decolonized approach in my therapeutic work. I know evidence based modalities from Western society though I am able to prioritize Eastern based philosophy and modalities in my practice.
My belief is that you already have all of the answers. Coming to therapy serves as a way to unlearn, unclutter and reenergize lost parts of self. Using a Trauma Informed Approach, I provide and use Holistic and Somatic modalities, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Codependency and Boundary Work and EMDR for clients.
I enjoy the outdoors. I am working towards becoming a yoga instructor. I am vegan and love working out. I also ride a motorcycle!
The truth is, we are all connected within our minds, bodies and souls. We can heal when we pause, connect and set intentions to move towards the most authentic versions of ourselves. It begins here, with you.
